Year-Round Team
Mike Saperstein-Director of Business Development and Marketing
This is Mike's 13th year at Steve and Kate's Camp. He has worked on virtually all aspects of the camp and is now focused on business development and marketing. Mike spent a year in Paris studying at Sciences-Po and working at Deloitte & Touche before graduating from UC San Diego. When Mike was young, he used to play hide and seek with his brother by hiding his head under a pillow. He thought that if he couldn't see his brother, his brother couldn't see him. Mike is not allowed to hide the chicken for Find the Rubber Chicken.
Kevin White-Director of Operations and Finance
This is Kevin's 14th year working at Steve and Kate's Camp. He manages all the camp operations and handles all the finances. Kevin is a graduate of UC Berkeley where he majored in Business. Steve and Kate have known Kevin since he was 5 years old because he was also a camper at Steve and Kate's Camp.
Ashley Wells-Director of Programming
This is Ashley's 1st year at Steve and Kate's Camp (but we don't hold that against her). From studios to daily specials, she manages the programming for the camp. Ashley has taught in classrooms in the Bronx, Germany, and aboard a 43-foot sailboat on an around-the-world voyage. She has a B.A. in English and German from Duke University and a Master's of Education from Harvard University. When Ashley was young, she also lived aboard a sailboat for a time where she and her brothers practiced (and tested) their knowledge of knots in tangled games of escape artist.
Jen Rodrigue-Director of Administration
This is Jen's 12th year at Steve and Kate's Camp. She manages all our administrative matters. Jen and her husband, Tyler, welcomed a lovely little sister, Emma, for James their 2 year old son in November last year. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Jen earned her teaching credential in 2003 and now has a master's in Education from Dominican University. When Jen was a baby she confused day and night, so she slept while it was light and liked to be awake when it was dark. It's a good thing for our day camp that she fixed that little mix-up.
Jennifer Gastrich-Director of Human Resources
This is Jennifer's 5th year with Steve and Kate's Camp. She manages all matters related to hiring and staffing. Jennifer comes to us from New York City, where she directed a summer day camp for elementary school children and earned her Master's of Public Administration from NYU. She has been working with children for many years as a program manager, coach, tutor and mentor. As a child (and even now), Jennifer didn't like wearing shoes…so you will most likely find her in the "no shoe zone" of the Jurassic inflatable.
