Casting call for performing artists who want to share their craft with kids.

Born to breakdance? How about choreographing your own kid crew and schooling them in popping and locking, footwork and freezing. If your world is the stage, you could cultivate junior thespians and direct them in one act plays. A graduate of The Groundlings? Why not coach campers in sketch comedy and the art of improv.

Steve and Kate's Camp is currently auditioning performing artists to teach in our Performing Arts Studio. Each summer, we create a sensational lineup of weekly workshops that introduce campers to a wide variety of performing arts. From capoeira to circus arts, hip hop dance to improv, African drumming to musical theater. We are looking to fill this summer's playbill with an even more diverse and dazzling lineup that will be sure to strike a chord with campers.

A captive audience…

At Steve and Kate's Camp, we give children the freedom to choose. We offer a tantalizing array of activities and let our campers (who range in age from kindergarten to 7th grade) follow their own interests. As a result, the campers who choose to participate in your workshops want to be there. A captive audience is guaranteed. Take your show on the road.…

Steve and Kate's Camp has eight Bay Area locations: Berkeley, Santa Rosa, Palo Alto, two in San Francisco, and three in Marin County. Spend a week at each location or schedule a mini-tour to three or four. Ideally, you'll be available for at least a three-site tour. Workshops run for two hours per day and can be scheduled during the morning (10am-12pm) or afternoon (1:30-3:30pm) activity blocks. Tour dates (camp sessions) are from June 14 through August 27.

You fit the (play)bill if you…

Have extensive training in your craft and experience teaching workshops to children. Bring strong communication and interpersonal skills. Have reliable transportation. Embrace our philosophy and approach. Fingerprinting and background check required.
